Whiskeytown Reservoir Guided Fishing Trips

Whiskeytown Lake sits just west of Redding inside the Whiskeytown-Shasta-Trinity National Recreation Area, and it is one of the closest guided fishing options to town. Scott Caldwell runs trips here when the kokanee bite is on and as a change of pace from Shasta Lake.

What we fish for. Whiskeytown is best known for kokanee salmon, with a strong spring and early summer troll bite, along with rainbow trout and spotted bass. The lake is smaller and calmer than Shasta, which makes it a good choice for families and for anglers who want a shorter run to the fish.

How a trip works. Scott provides the boat, rods, reels, tackle and food. You bring a valid California fishing license, a jacket, sunscreen and sunglasses. All ages and experience levels are welcome.
