Best bite of the Spring on Shasta Lake

Day 2 with LaVerna and Rusty went just as well as day1. With the threat of crazy spring storm we stayed close and fished Shasta Lake. I have been running my guide service out of Lakehead and have great lodging at the Shasta Lake Motel.

The weather never hindered our fishing efforts on day 2, and we ended up hooking up over 20 trout, and putting a couple nice limits in the box. We caught a nice mix of quality Brown and Rainbow Trout. LaVerna out did Rusty on day 2, not only matching Rusty's 3 pound Brown, but also beating it with a fiesty 5 pounder.

That 5 pound Brown put on quite a show making multiple drag ripping runs and multiple tail walking surface dances. That fish did all it could to spit the hook, but in the end, she got her picture taken haha.

The fish were all caught in the top 30 feet while trolling trout imitation plugs lathered in ProCure anchovy, threadfin shad, and bloody garlic tuna scents.

April and May are fabulous fishing months (Lake Siskiyou, Shasta Lake, McCloud Reservoir and Whiskeytown Reservoir) give me a call 530 905 0758, and let's put you next fishing adventure together.
