Nothing much to report here other than if you want to have a good time catching fish, then give me a call and let's get you and your buddies on Shasta Lake.

The fishing action for bass, brown and rainbow trout has been as hot as the air temperature. We have been having 20 plus fish days with fish up to 6 1/2 pounds coming to the net. I have not been targeting Bass but they have been pretty active while trolling for Brown and Rainbow Trout. These bass also put up a nice fight and a few have been in the 3 pound class. These are also great eating if you choose to keep em.

All the fish have been gorging themselves on shad and this makes there meat wonderful table fair. These fish are fighting hard and put up some great battles. Trolling Trinidad tackle optimizer junior spoons lathered in Pro Cure threadfin shad gel has been the hot lure lately. Trolling 1.5 to 3 mph between 50 and 100 feet has been the money zone.

Give me a call 530 905 0758 or book online at Caldwellfishing.com I have some days open next week in August and September is looking to be another fabulous month of fishing on Shasta Lake. School is back in now and lake traffic has been light, especially during the week.

If you have any questions about putting a trip together just call me or leave me a message and I will get back to you.
