Whiskeytown Kokanee on the bite despite the wind

May 8, 2022
Scott Caldwell

It has been a busy week of fishing, Whiskeytown Kokanee are hot on the bite the past 3 days, despite the crazy wind, they are blast, and quite tasty.

Fishing at Whiskeytown has been consistent. Limits of fat Kokanee have been the norm from the surface down to 55 feet. Trolling pink dodgers and hoochie spinners tipped with garlic corn at 1 to 2.2 mph.

Bass action at Trout Lake is now starting fish are moving into the shallows looking spawn. This is a fabulous time to site fish.

Trout action at Shasta Lake is getting  going again. Surface e trolling it pretty fun when they rip your bait at 4.5 mph.
