11/30/18 - It was that kind of day on Shasta Lake for RD a 10 for 15 fat Dinner Bow kinda day!

VIDEO from the past 2 days

A day after fishing through a steady downpour,  Randy and I were treated to calm and at times Sunny warm weather. No matter the weather the Shasta Trout have been on the bite, gorging themselves on baby shad. All of the fish we caught bad full bellies and often burped up half eaten little shad.

All the Trout we caught were between the the surface and 30 feet and while trolling between 2 and 4 mph. Optimizers, Rapalas, Flies and Dodgers, BC spoons all got bit. Every lure was lathered with Pro-Cure Carp Spit or Garlic Bloody Tuna.

Fish size is excellent many between 2 and 5 pounds and they fight like Steelhead, jumping and ripping drag once hooked. These are some great eating fish if you choose to keep them. The diet of shad gives them a rich colored meat with a hint of Salmon flavor.

Christmas and New Years are just a little over a month away. I have the perfect gift certificate stocking stuffer presents for your fisherman or woman.

Dont let the crazy weather stop you coming fishing winter is an excellent time on the lakes and rivers.
