Merry Fishmas Steelhead and Trout special

Merry Fishmas Steelhead and Trout special

Scott Caldwell

Tis the Fishmas season! Happy holidays and may your fishing dreams come true.

The Klamath river has been fishing well the past week. Winter Steelhead are hungry and more fish are moving through the entire system from the mouth to below Irongate reservoir on a daily basis. All methods of fishing from bait to fly fishing are producing fish. This is the time of year when you have a good shot at a hard fighting Klamath Steelhead in the 5 to 9 pound range.

Don't forget about the Lakes (McCloud, Siskiyou and Shasta) these fisheries all produce well during the winter months. Brook, Brown and Rainbow Trout still have to eat and can be caught on a variety of methods.

Fishing pressure is minimal on all these waters throughout the Holidays and  the following winter months. If your looking for some peace and quiet, great fishing, then give me a call. Mother nature may give us some snow and Mount Ashland and  Mount Shasta  offer some fantastic skiing options as well.
