Local Fishing & Weather Report as of 6/19/2012
#1-Klamath River (Hornbrook) - The annual Salmonfly hatch is in full swing now. Trout and Steelhead up to five pounds are biting well on dry flies, crawdad plugs and bait. This past week family and clients caught over 20 fish each trip.
#1-McCloud Reservoir (McCloud) - Trout are all over the lake and biting well trolling Seps dodgers (with worms or flies) and plugs (brokenback Rapalas) worked best. I have been starting my trips very early, but later in the day the bite has been very good. Limits are easy to get and the Trout are in excellent shape.
#3-Shasta Valley Wildlife Refuge (Montague) - Both Bass and Trout lakes have been fishing very good for Trout and Bass. Flies are working best at Trout lake (for Trout) and bait is better at Bass lake. Get an early start at both lakes the bite drops off at mid-day. Bass are hitting well on a four inch red flake plastic worm no weight in the shallows.
#4-Eagle Lake (Susanville) - Open and fishing checkout Eaglelake.net or Myoutdoorbuddy.com for the latest
#5-Medicine Lake - Should be hungry (Rainbows and Brook Trout) and easy limits right now.
#6 Lake Siskiyou- Easy limits can be had but get out early lots of camping traffic this time of year.
#7 Greenhorn Park (Yreka) - Bass and Trout are taking bait and lures, this is a fun little park for a family picnic.
