Klamath River Fish Report for 10-4-2011
10-4-2011
Scott Caldwell
Despite the huge change in the weather, the Salmon fishing on the upper Klamath River remains excellent. Late Sunday afternoon, the weather began to change with dark clouds and gusty winds. Monday morning it was cold and rainy. Today, we lucked out and just had cool temperatures with a light sprinkle of rain but as we ended our day of fishing the rain really started to come down. The Salmon bite has remained hot even though the weather has not, my clients have been hooking up 20 or more fish per trip since Sunday. Today, my clients John and Norman landed 24 Salmon all while fishing with roe behind a Luhr Jensen jet diver or bouncing it with a weighted set up along the bottom. Most of the Salmon were smallish adult males in the 22 to 25 inch range but we did land a couple of nice hens and one bigger buck that was close to twenty pounds.
