Mr Brown -- Lake Siskiyou

First time Lake Siskiyou fisher Charlie Gibson got an early morning visit from Mr Brown yesterday.
As the sun was rising the rod exploded off the down rigger. Trolling at 3 mph between 20 an 35 feet tends to help for good ripping bites. You also know it is a good fish when the slack is immediately gone and the clicker on reel is singing that sweet fisherman song ""Fish On"!! After a few nice runs Charlie brought that beautiful brown to net. We got the lure out took a quick photo and back in the water it went.
The Release VIDEO. Now that is how you get the heart pumping first thing in the morning. The rest of the morning was spent trolling around various plugs dodgers bait and lures catching and releasing mostly smaller rainbows. Charlie did keep a couple for a fresh trout dinner.
There are a lot of nice fish in Lake Siskiyou and they are biting now. The weather was cooler yesterday and the wind did pick up to the point where the bite just shut off and it was time to get off the water. We did have an excellent morning fishing despite the breezy/windy conditions. It got harder to fish after about 1pm but by then we were happy with our efforts.
The morning was spent looking for another good hog like the first but it will have to be another time, all in all, it was a great day to be on water fishing.
